insurance

Currently I accept  Optum  (UMR, UBH), United Health Care, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medical Mutual of Ohio, and Cigna plans.

I also accept FSA and HSA cards.

I am happy to provide proof of payment to submit for reimbursement for out-of-network coverage if I don't accept your insurance. Check with your insurance provider first to verify if superbills are accepted for out-of-network providers for reimbursement. I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your card and speaking to a representative for details about your specific plan. Other helpful questions you may want to consider asking include: What is my out of network deductible? How much of my out of network deductible has already been met? What is my policy period? What is my coinsurance? How do I submit for reimbursement? How long do I have to submit my superbill?  Often clients can receive a majority of their payment as reimbursement!

format

I currently offer virtual therapy, using a secure and HIPAA compliant platform. Group therapy sessions are held in Columbus, OH.  Very limited spots may be available for me to come to your home for in-person sessions. These sessions are perfect if you have an infant. Rates vary depending on distance- please reach out.

Why teletherapy? There is a vulnerability and closeness that happens in the comfort of your own space. You'll also avoid the chaos that often follows the commute to and from an office. You'll get to start and end a session in a comfortable place. You can settle in your favorite chair with a cup of tea, and be in a place that makes you feel calm.

How long does therapy typically last?

The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients find relief in just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. We'll regularly review your progress and adjust our plan accordingly.

What can I expect in the first session?

The initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you may have. I'll also explain my approach and we'll determine if we're a good fit to work together.

How often will we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions. As you progress, we may adjust the frequency to biweekly or monthly sessions. We'll work together to determine the best schedule for your needs.

Is what I say in therapy confidential?

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share in sessions is protected by law, with a few exceptions:

  • If there's a risk of harm to yourself or others

  • Suspected abuse of children or vulnerable adults

  • If required by court order

I'll always discuss these limits to confidentiality with you.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by calling 740-791-1401, emailing hello@aidanjohnsontherapy.com, or using the contact form on this website. I'll get back to you within 24-48 hours to set up our first session.

Do you offer crisis services?

I am not available for crisis services. If you're experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You can also contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

The more you know yourself, the less you are influenced by external forces; the more you are able to hear your own deep wisdom and embrace your true nature- who you are, where you belong, and which way is the right direction- in order to take discerning action.
